Tynemouth Castle Inn

After an exciting refurbishment, the new Tynemouth Castle Inn, formerly the Park Hotel has reopened, and Design North were appointed as part of the design team working on this iconic site for The Inn Collection Group. The Design North scope of works included the transformation of 50 new guestrooms, and 2 new food retail units: Oswin’s fish & chip shop and Cones ice cream parlour.

The bedrooms offer a spacious and cosy interior, with many rooms overlooking the picturesque Longsands beach. Oswin’s, the new fish & chip shop, offers an exciting and fresh new takeaway for guests and locals to enjoy. The interior combines traditional dark panelling and rustic brick slips with navy fish-scale tiles and a touch of elegance with eye catching gold grout.

The ice cream parlour, Cones, which serves up over 20 flavours, has been finished with art-deco interiors to complement the look and feel of the hotel and even offers a unique opportunity of an unlimited topping station.

The interior is cohesive with the Cones brand and every finish carefully chosen, with touches of pink and soft curves within the design. The glossy marble countertop and decorative tin ceiling tiles make an instant impact as customers enter the parlour.
