Office Interior Trends: Dark Hues Reign Supreme

15 April 2025

Design North, part of Architects-Group, have worked on many office refurbishment projects over the years, from offices for luxury fashion brands, to universities and centres for innovation. Once upon a time the desired aesthetic was clean, bright and neutral, giving a light and airy feel to office spaces. In recent times however, Design North have noticed mindsets have shifted and clients are instead looking for offices which emanate luxury and success, via rich, dark colours and exquisite detailing.

Dark colours contribute to a richer palette and can make spaces feel warmer and more inviting than bright white alternatives. Design North have designed many spaces with a combination of dark tones, such as navy, emerald green and charcoal, paired with high-end materials and finishes to create an opulent and exclusive interior. They are seeing dark colours chosen more often than not, especially in board rooms and executive offices, giving an overall impression of power and authority.
