Design North, part of the Architects Group, have won a series of projects to transform the interior spaces of one of Newcastle’s most iconic streets.
Work is currently underway to develop and design concepts for Earl Grey House, the former Bagnall and Kirkwood building and the Theatre Royal. Each of these historic buildings sits along Grey Street, one of the most picturesque streets in Newcastle. Designs are also being prepared for a new flagship Newcastle Building Society branch opposite Grey’s Monument. Each of these buildings are located within the Central Conservation Area of Newcastle, and will be given appropriate consideration to ensure any changes are sensitive to their rich historic surroundings.
Plans are also in motion for buildings on Mosley Street and Pilgrim Street to create new restaurants, bars and an aparthotel. Design North are thrilled to be involved in so many projects centred around Newcastle’s historic core and to be a part of the ongoing investment and development of this vibrant city centre.
