In 2013 Third Space Design, Iain Bramble Architects and Moxon Project Management, each headed by principals who had worked together on projects in every sector for FaulknerBrown Architects, formed MBM Architecture Ltd to design and deliver Parkside Mental Health Resource Centre for Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV).

Handed over on time and on budget in December 2016 David Brown, TEWV’s director of operations for Teesside noted at the official opening that Parkside ‘is our best building’. It’s since been short listed for Best Public Service Building in the Northern LABC Building Excellence Awards 2017.

We delivered Parkside and our subsequent projects with the unique people centred and 'inside out' design process we've refined through creating innovative, attractive and functional solutions for our clients. We meet our clients, their teams and their stakeholders, and use workshops, questionnaires and observation to make sure we fully understand the people and the project before bringing together and leading bespoke teams to deliver our clients' wants, needs and aspirations.

We're constantly researching and contributing to current design thinking, collaborating with industry thought leaders, and asking the 'what if...?' questions that ensure every avenue of innovation is explored before we bring forward solutions.

In early 2017, through collaboration with Scott Stewart of Design Hound Studio, we recognised an opportunity to expand the innovative design approach we bring to the market, invited Scott on board and evolved from MBM Architecture to DESIGN_NORTH.
